  • We used these back reamers on multiple jobs with great success. They’re easy to work with, to handle and connect. They cut through hard surfaces including the roots with out deflecting and with very little ware. We’re very pleased with this product and look forward to using it again in the future.

Back reamer used to cut through roots without deflecting
  • We have had an excellent business association with Ted Dimitroff and his past construction company "Trenchless Flowline" for the last twenty years and we consider that organization to be an experienced and well qualified part of the water and wastewater market throughout many states. A review of their many installations of past restrained joint piping projects will demonstrate many of their unique methods and tool designs that are "more accurate and a better way of doing things".

  • I have been all over the world on HDD projects. I have seen this new technology back reamer design used on many “on grade HDD” gravity sewer projects. The tool provides a straight smooth bore hole while reducing pulling friction. These reamer designs are one of the safest I have ever seen.

Frank Canon, Halliburton - Baroid Industrial Drilling Fluids

  • I have been on over 10 different Florida projects in the past three years, that these tools have been used on, and there is "no way" that any "off the shelf" tools would have met the high standards and/or close tolerances that the HDD Tool Store products do. Their reamers cut & mix better, and weigh 5 times less, which means you have straighter back reamed hole. "Why would anybody use a bigger, heavier reamer"??

    Paul Blastic, Florida Pipeline Sales

  • We used these tools to replace several thousands of feet of 6” clay or VCP pipe in Greenville, SC, with 8” HDPE pipe. The shallow pipe was supposed to be replaced by pipe bursting, but bursting was not feasible as the soil displacement would have damaged nearby structures and concrete driveways. The design of these tools allowed us to cut and remove the soil and pipe only ¼’ more than the outside diameter of the HDPE to be installed. This kept the newly installed pipe on the proper line and grade, without damaging nearby structures and improvements.

    Mike Woodcock, Portland Utilities Construction

  • The tool designs have been used to install conduits on several of our projects and the same tool design was used on two 36-inch HDPE creek crossings. We are looking forward to doing pipe replacement using the new back reamer design.

    Jim Parish, Urban Contractors

  • We used this new technology back reamer design on a gravity sewer project. The reamer was used to core cut out concrete manholes with steel reinforcement steel and install hundreds of feet of gravity sewer mainline pipe. It was easy to install and remove the reamer head in a safe manner.

    Donny Buckner, All Out Septic

  • We used the tooling to install water mainline pipe at a shallow serviceable depth. Large canopy oak trees were in the bore path and the roots needed to be cut clean. The reamer design has wide flat sharp carbide cutters that the local arborist approved for drilling under the very large canopy oak trees.

    Jim Guess, Comtech Engineering

  • Tools were used to install 6 inch C-900 locking joint PVC. We pre-reamed and used the convenient 6-inch push back cap to get back to the end and pull the pipe. Same tool design was used to do clay tile pipe replacement projects in South Carolina.
