About Directional Drilling Experience
Years of field testing in many soil types and conditions. It was found that pointed carbides (Sharks tooth) rip tree roots and leaves larger debris within the bore hole. Pointed carbides plow soils and will not mix soils and fluids evenly. The flat 5/8” wide sharp edge carbides on our reamer designs mixes the fluids and soil more evenly while cutting roots and debris cleanly. Arborist have approved the flat sharp edge 5/8” carbides to bore under trees because roots are cut clean. Pipe pull back pressure is reduced because the back reamer makes a straighter and much smoother wall while backing. Aggressive back reamer will go around unknow objects, our back reamer will cut straight through any object and reduce pull back pressure. Two new patented technology back reamer designs came from this.
The soil reamer design works great in water table and sand conditions because the reamer is lighter weight and does not drop during the back-reaming process. Currently this is the only back reamer being used to install flat grade gravity sewer systems.
Years of on the job field testing has proven that these reamers will last as long as any on the market. Our design uses lamination to create the strength while keeping the weight down.
The lamination design makes this reamer even strong enough to cut holes through concrete manholes with reinforcement steel.
The three-piece design allows the operator to change tool sizes using a simple allen wrench. No more pipe wrenches or stem wrenches. Once the allen bolt is removed, the swivel tab is unscrewed, and reamer is removed. The HDD machine operator can now pull the shaft up to the HDD rig and removes the shaft using the jaws on the rig.
There are two types of swivel connection tabs available to fit the existing industry available swivels, without using clevises. If you pre-ream your installations, the convenient push back tool is quick to install and provides a smooth push back. Another benefit is the outer carbide cutters can be removed and replaced using a thin grinding wheel and welding available replacement carbides in place.
The harden steel shaft will last longer than the reamer head and replacement reamer heads are much more cost effective without having to purchase a new shaft every time you buy a reamer. Because of the light weight design, handling and storage is more convenient, you can pick up our 24-inch reamer with one hand.
